CHINESE MARTAL ARTS - KUNG FU

In Chinese, kung fu (功夫, Kung meaning "work" or "achievement" and either Fu or fu, a particle or suffix that can mean "intensity") is the term used widely in Southern China, Hong Kong, South East Asia and most of the oversea Chinese communities while Wushu is the term used normally in Mainland China only. The meaning of Kung fu is not totally same as Wushu. Kung fu is a technical fighting skill. Bruce Lee's Jeet Kun Do is a typical example.

OLYMPIC
FREESTYLE WRESTLING
Freestyle wrestling is a style of amateur wrestling that is practiced throughout the world. Along with Greco-Roman, it is one of the two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic games. It is, along with track and field, one of the oldest organized sports in history.[citation needed] American high school and college wrestling is conducted under different rules and is termed scholastic and collegiate wrestling.Freestyle wrestling, like collegiate wrestling, has its greatest origins in catch-as-catch-can wrestling and, in both styles, the ultimate goal is to throw and pin your opponent to the mat, which results in an immediate win. Freestyle and collegiate wrestling, unlike Greco-Roman, also both allow the use of the wrestler's or his opponent's legs in offense and defense. Freestyle wrestling is the most complete style of standup wrestling and brings together traditional wrestling, judo, and sambo techniques.

JU JITSU
Jujutsu (a.k.a. ju-jitsu/jujitsu, ju-jutsu, jiujitsu) is a Japanese martial art and a method of close combat for defeating an armed and armoured opponent in whichone uses no weapon or only a short weapon. The word jujutsu can be broken down into two parts. “Ju” is a concept. The idea behind the meaning of Ju is “to be gentle”, “to give way”, “to yield, “to blend”, “to move out of harm’s way”. “Jutsu” is the principle or “the action” part of Ju-Jutsu. In Japanese this word means science or art which is why Ju-Jutsu is known as the “gentle art”.Dow-Wei-Dan-Chi-Kung-Fa Jujitsu teaches you defence from armed and unarmed attacks, you will also learn to use whatever you can and will do things like throwing, trapping, joint manipulation, holds, gouging, biting, disengagements, striking, kicking, strangles and chokes. You will also learn Atemi waza (Striking vulnerable areas), Ashigi (muscle crushes) and lots more.In Ju-Jutsu, practitioners train in the use of devastating techniques. However, because students are not trained for competitions, risk is minimised. Students are taught break falling skills to allow them to safely practice throwing techniques.

BOXING
A classic "boxer" or stylist (also known as an "out-fighter") seeks to maintain distance between himself and his opponent, fighting with faster, longer range punches, most notably the jab, and gradually wearing his opponent down. Due to this reliance on weaker punches, out-fighters tend to win by point decisions rather than by knockout, though some out-fighters have notable knockout records. They are often regarded as the best boxing strategists due to their ability to control the pace of the fight and lead their opponent, methodically wearing him down and exhibiting more skill and finesse than a brawler, fighters need reach, hand speed, reflexes, and footwork.

W.T.F. TAEKWONDO
Taekwondo /ˌtaɪˌkwɒnˈdoʊ/ or /ˌteɪˌkwɒnˈdoʊ/ (Korean 태권도 (hangul) / 跆拳道 (hanja), [tʰɛk͈wʌndo]) is a Korean martial art. It combines combat and self-defense techniques with sport and exercise. Gyeorugi (pronounced [kjʌɾuɡi]), a type of sparring, has been an Olympic event since 2000. Taekwondo was developed by a variety of Korean masters during the 1940s as partial combination of taekkyeon, Okinawan karate, and other traditions. The name taekwondo was coined by Choi Hong Hi (of the Oh Do Kwan).

AIKIDO
Aikido (Japanese: 合気道 Hepburn: Aikidō?) [a.i.ki.doː] is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba as a synthesis of his martial studies, philosophy, and religious beliefs. Aikido is often translated as "the Way of unifying (with) life energy"[1] or as "the Way of harmonious spirit."[2] Ueshiba's goal was to create an art that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury.[3][4]Aikido is performed by blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the force of the attack rather than opposing it head-on. This requires very little physical strength, as the aikidōka (aikido practitioner) "leads" the attacker's momentum using entering and turning movements.
